Uncover digital footprints with OSINT Industries. A complete review.

The Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) field is growing, and new intelligence products are appearing on the market. The ability to scan public information and transform it into actionable insights attracts investigators and researchers of various kinds. OSINT Industries is one of the recent tools that came out of nowhere and got loved by many. The question is - is this tool for you? Let's find out.

OSINT Industries recently went through a redesign. Here is the new homepage.

What is OSINT Industries?

OSINT Industries is a tool for investigating phone numbers and email addresses. It creates a comprehensive and accurate digital footprint of the person of interest. Law enforcement, journalists, government agencies, and various intelligence experts use it to aid their investigations.

Advantages of the product

Input one piece, get a whole picture

OSINT Industries uses unique selector enrichment technology. Sounds complicated? It means having a single piece of information you get multiple pieces put together in a comprehensive profile.

OSINT Industries has 300+ modules built-in

Real-time intelligence gathering

The platform scans live digital footprints. It creates a comprehensive intelligence report, displayed in a user-friendly manner.

It's worth using if you are a beginner and need a low-friction tool to get a complete profile of the person. Tech-savvy people will enjoy it as well. Why set up your lab with phone emulators and email recon scripts when you have a ready solution? Personally, I would save time and concentrate on the actual OSINT work.

Accurate results

Every account you get in search results is directly connected to the entered phone number or email. It doesn't search social media profiles by username, so the likelihood of false positives is greatly reduced.

Safety and no-storage policy

Intelligence is a highly regulated field. OSINT researchers conduct sensitive operations, that might unleash havoc if their activities are leaked. That's why OSINT Industries does not store your searches and results. Moreover, it complies with GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) to further protect its customers.

How to use OSINT Industries?

To test the platform let's start from the reverse email lookup. Reverse email lookup is a method used to identify details about the owner using their email address as the starting point.

Let's take a real use case and footprint a member of one of the most famous terrorist organizations - Wagner. They created a youth club, headed by Alexander Tronin. Before putting his email into the search, I thought I would get only a few results. Well, I got a comprehensive digital footprint.

The interface has a quick summary at the top with a number of sources, names, usernames, accounts, and relevant countries. Before getting into the footprint details you will see a timeline, that shows a high-level view of obtained results. The map has four sections: Last Seen, Created, HIBP (Have I Been Pwned), and Map data.

The digital footprint of the target is beautifully mapped to aid your geolocation research. Clicking on the map pin you get detailed information about each place and how it's related to the target. The GIF below further illustrates map activity.

Map activity

The next section in our research is breached accounts and profile pictures. Breaches show online activity of the account and profile pictures serve as a pivot point for reverse image search. Conveniently download all pictures to further continue your research in image search engines.

The next section shows comprehensive data about Internet profiles. The amount of data and the way it is visually presented is awesome. I haven't shown screenshots of all the results, because there are too many! Look, it even has phone numbers. What a treasure trove of information.

The last section at the bottom shows an overview where the account was registered. Unlike other tools, OSINT Industries doesn't query services for the registered username, so you get no false positives.

Before finishing email investigation I just want to point out that each card can be expanded by clicking Expand Result. For example, Google Maps has reviews and a lot of other useful data.

As we are wrapping up the email investigation, that's not all the capabilities of the OSINT Industries tool. Every person is unique, so you'll find different digital footprints researching others.

Phone number lookup

Investigating the phone number yields a plethora of results, including profile pictures that match those from the previous investigation. Researching both the email and phone number allows us to double-check the data.

A similar interface is presented when we search for mobile numbers. We have data points displayed in blocks with the ability to expand results.

Personally, this tool exceeded my expectations. I would imagine the complexity of a local setup would be needed to achieve this level of results. Moreover, all the data is beautifully presented and ready for export.

Wrapping up

OSINT Industries differs from conventional intelligence solutions by not storing personal information or maintaining a database. Instead, it retrieves Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) data on-the-fly during each search, delivering real-time insights such as identity, geographical location, and associated accounts.

The company offers free tiers for government, law enforcement, journalists and non-profits. Following its #OSINT4Good mission it fights disinformation and makes world a safer place. Request your free access or select a suitable plan to supercharge your next investigation.
